ZIRCONIA DENTAL CROWN
ZIRCONIA DENTAL CROWN is a type of dental restoration that completely encases or covers a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance.
If you have a tooth that is damaged, weakened, or aesthetically compromised, our dentist may recommend a crown as part of your treatment plan to restore function, strength, and aesthetics to the tooth.
What are the steps for the zirconia dental crown?
Tooth Preparation
Removing a portion of the outer enamel layer of the tooth to create space for the crown.
Impression Taking
Once the tooth has been prepared, our dentist will take impressions of the tooth and surrounding teeth. These impressions are used to create a custom-made crown that matches the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth.
Temporary Crown
While the permanent crown is being fabricated in a dental laboratory, your dentist may place a temporary crown over the prepared tooth to protect it and maintain aesthetics and function.
Crown Placement
Once the permanent crown is ready, usually within two to three weeks, you will return to the dentist's office for the final crown placement. Our dentist will remove the temporary crown, thoroughly clean and prepare the tooth, and then carefully cement or bond the permanent crown into place.
